Campus Village “Inside Carolina” Interview with April Barnes
Move in weekend at University of South Carolina is being kicked off with the official ribbon cutting ceremony for Campus Village. Four six-story residential hall buildings, boasting a combined total of 1,808 beds, welcome the record setting freshman class to campus. This ambitious and transformative public-private project represents the largest student housing undertaking in the university’s history and is poised to elevate student living and learning experiences.
The project earned Two Green Globes certification, recognizing strategies that reduce energy and water use, manage stormwater runoff, minimize waste, support occupant health and wellness, and incorporate local materials. The redevelopment also transformed a large area of surface parking into a more walkable, connected campus community while preserving significant existing street trees.
We were thrilled to see the interview Hannah Horne did with April Barnes about the new student housing development. This project was an honor to design. BOUDREAUX teamed with WDG, designed the four buildings and transportation hub. BOUDREAUX interior design team created an experience for USC students as they create these first-year memories.
