Center for Business and Information Technologies | Columbia, SC

2 Green Globes Certified

Our team has created a welcoming, iconic gateway to the Midlands Technical College Beltline Campus through the design of a new Center for Business and Information Technologies. Shifting the campus culture toward shared and collaborative spaces, the 58,000 structure provides ample student study and gathering spaces and features flexible classrooms with that can be shared by multiple disciplines. The design features a monumental, indoor-outdoor stair that connects lower-level commuter parking to the central campus pedestrian pathways.

The building is shared by math, science, business, and information systems technology departments in support of fast-growing career opportunities. The Center features classrooms, labs, offices, student study spaces, and flexible conference and meeting spaces linked by a monumental indoor/outdoor stair.

Through its achievement of 2 Green Globes, the building focuses on enhanced efficiency of systems and incorporates natural light in a way to increase wellness factor for students and employees in the building. Midlands Tech envisions this building connects both students and the business community together through use of flexible gathering spaces.
