Clemson University Southeast Precinct Master Plan | Clemson, SC
A master plan analyzed the existing Southeast Precinct facilities (588,000 SF in eight buildings) and grounds, and recommended new facilities to meet the projected growth in students, faculty and staff. The plan recommended an additional 97,000 NSF of new space as well as renovations to the existing buildings. Numerous stakeholder meetings and interviews were held with the College of Agriculture, Forestry and Life Sciences (CAFLS) administration, faculty and students, and university administration.
Four key themes emerged that became the foundation for the master plan recommendations:
• Create a stronger sense of community with CAFLS
• Improve the aesthetics and condition of the buildings and grounds in order to exemplify the traditions, innovations and sense of pride in the university
• Improve accessibility throughout the precinct
• Improve productivity and efficiencies of the buildings through air quality, adjacencies and support space for students
The project team was led by BOUDREAUX and included Dober Lidsky Mathey and Johnson & King Engineers.
