Campus Master Plan | University of South Carolina Sumter
With the driving goal of increasing enrollment and enhancing the student experience, USC Sumter engaged our team to lead a comprehensive campus master planning process. The finished plan outlines a clear vision to grow the University to 1,000 full-time students by 2028 while transforming the campus into a vibrant, welcoming place of exceptional learning and community impact.
Robust stakeholder engagement - including students, faculty, staff, alumni, and community partners - shaped every phase of the plan. Guided by this input and grounded in data analysis, the plan prioritizes strategic investment in five key areas: academics, student life, athletics and wellness, campus aesthetics, and community connections.
Catalyst projects such as on-campus student housing, a new Athletics and Wellness Facility, a Multi-Purpose Building, and an expanded Student Success Center are central to realizing this vision. These projects address immediate space needs, serving as the foundation for long-term growth and success.
Enhancements to the campus grounds, including iconic gathering spaces like The Plaza, The Ant Hill, and The Patio, further contribute to a dynamic student environment and a strong sense of place.
The USC Sumter Campus Master Plan is a living document, providing a flexible yet ambitious roadmap to elevate the university’s physical environment and deliver on its mission to enrich lives and fuel prosperity in Sumter County and beyond.
